Last week, Hopkinsville High School seniors had the opportunity to tour local industry partners as part of the school’s mission to ensure all students have a post-secondary plan after graduation. Specifically, students planning to enter the workforce could visit the Pregis facility and learn about the company’s products, careers, employment opportunities, and employee benefits.
One of the tour’s highlights was the chance for students to walk the production floor and see many of the employees and automated equipment at work firsthand. This provided an invaluable opportunity for students to gain insight into the inner workings of a thriving industry partner and understand the types of jobs and skills required to work in such an environment.
Thanks to the South Western KY Economic Development Council’s IGNITE program for making these tours possible. The program aims to connect students with local industry partners and provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the workforce.
Overall, the tours were a valuable experience for the seniors of Hopkinsville High School and will help them make informed decisions about their future careers. The school is committed to providing students with the resources and opportunities to succeed after graduation. It will continue to work with local industry partners to achieve this goal.
