Phyllis Boyd of Hopkinsville, age 90

On Tuesday night, April 8, 2025, Phyllis Boyd, 90, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Green Hill Memorial Gardens will have graveside services on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The arrangements are being handled by Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home.

The fifth child of Herman Neal and Sally Leonard Owen Patton, she was born on October 4, 1934, in Watertown, Tennessee. She taught in the preschool and kindergarten programs of First Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where she was an active member throughout her life. She loved crafts, sewing, gardening, and reading. She exemplified a servant heart as a caring and devoted mother and grandma.

Her parents, four brothers, and husband, Robert Edgar Boyd, all passed away before her.

Her two daughters, Nancy Boyd (Tim) Pace of Benton, Kentucky, and Sally Boyd of Tazewell, Virginia, as well as her six grandsons and five great-grandchildren, survive her.

Donations in her honor can be donated to Christian Fellowship School, 1343 US Highway 68 E, Benton, KY 42025, in lieu of flowers.
