An unhinged Brooklyn wigmaker hurled obscenities at first responders during a bizarre rant following the horrific wreck that killed a mother and her two young daughters, prosecutors said, revealing that the youngest survivor of the tragic crash is now in a medically induced coma.
Miriam Yarimi, 32, smiled in court as she was arraigned Wednesday on a manslaughter and assault charge and ordered held without bail in the tragic March 29 Ocean Parkway crash that injured four others.
According to court records filed by the DA’s office, Yarimi allegedly yelled, “You bitch,” at firefighter Francis Donnelly when he arrived at the scene shortly after 1 p.m.
“What the fuck is taking so long. Mother f-ker, get me out of here. No, you want one minute. No, you need to wait a minute.
“Get out of my way, you bitch,” she reportedly said. “F-k you.”
Yarimi’s erratic behavior continued after she was taken to NYU Langone Hospital, according to the documents.
“Take me out of these handcuffs. Why can’t you uncuff me? “I’m a wigmaker,” she allegedly told two 61st Precinct officers at the hospital. “Uncuff me.” I need a lawyer. Where is my lawyer? I need a lawyer if I’m going to speak with the cops.”
Prosecutors claim Yarimi also told the officers, “People are out to get me,” and complained, “F-k you, I need a whole work up to get whatever is in my body out of it,” before refusing to take a breathalyzer.
“I do not want to put my breath on something that is going to contain my DNA,” she allegedly told a detective shortly after 3:30 p.m. that day. “No, I’m fine.” Do you want to smell my breath? There is no alcohol on my breath. Do you want to take a breathalyzer? Okay, go for it. “I’m just saying I don’t like seeing my DNA on things.”
The crash killed Natasha Saada and her two daughters, Diana, 8, and Debra, 5, while critically injuring her four-year-old son, Philip.
“In my over 25 years as a prosecutor in Brooklyn, this still remains one of the worst collisions that I’ve ever seen on a New York City street,” Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez said after the proceedings.
Gonzalez also shared an update on the boy’s condition.
“The last time I spoke to the father, the son had been sort of in a medically induced coma,” Gonzalez told me. “He had his kidney removed and sustained significant damage. They are still determining whether the injuries will have long-term consequences.
Yarimi, a single mother, was driving her 2023 Audi A3 sedan at twice the speed limit when she allegedly collided with an Uber and flipped over, striking the Saada family in the crosswalk.
The 63-year-old Uber driver and his passengers, a mother and her two young children, were also injured in the collision.
Police said the Audi had more than 93 traffic violations, including 20 speeding tickets.
According to childhood friend Ahuva Katzin, Yarimi, who has exhibited bizarre and unstable behavior, grew up in a “nerdy religious” family and attended Beit Yaakov Orot Sarah, a religious school for girls located about a block from her Midwood home.
“Her happy phases always go to religion,” Katzin said. “Every other week, you’ll notice she’s religious, and then she’s not religious. She’ll say she’s going to keep Shabbat, and then three days later you’ll see her on a cruise in a photo taken on Shabbat.”
She stated that Yarimi was devastated when her affair with a married NYPD cop, which began when she was 14 years old, came to an abrupt end. She later sued the city over the illegal tryst and was awarded a $2 million settlement last year.
Katzin also revealed that Yarimi’s social media persona as a fashionable and outgoing party girl with a penchant for fast cars is largely a ruse, and that she is actually a bit of a recluse.
Meanwhile, a friend of the Saada family expressed relief after Yarimi was denied bail on Wednesday.
“She doesn’t care about people or the world,” said the man, who preferred to be identified only as Joel K. “She only cares about herself.” She views humans as cockroaches. She’s extremely selfish. She does not see any red lights, cars, or pedestrians in the crosswalk. All she sees is herself.
“She is — what you call it — an influencer,” said the man. “She is out there. Now she’ll be famous when she goes to prison.”
