"Rebuild Level Complacency": Orioles fans want Baltimore's leaders to take responsibility for the terrible season

The Baltimore Orioles have ESPN’s top-ranked farm system in 2022 and 2023, but they continue to struggle.

Based on the potential of their players, the Orioles are expected to be in serious contention. Obviously, 21 losses does not indicate success. Fans are starting to notice. That’s putting it lightly. Over 1,000 fans recently declared that the level of play has reached insanity.

“It’s insane how bad the Orioles have been, and no one…” “No one has been held accountable,” one fan claimed. “Not one player. Not a single coach. There is not a single person in the front office. Absolutely no one. “Rebuild level complacency.”

Where Have the Baltimore Orioles Gone Wrong?

Right-handed batters have a combined OPS of.577 over the team’s first 34 games. That is the lowest ranking among the 30 Major League teams. The Chicago White Sox, who also have a sub-.600 mark, are close to joining them at the bottom.

“Many thought Rubenstein would be one to change the culture and bring in some winning,” one fan wrote on social media. “Unfortunately, this is more of a hostile takeover and buyout of the Orioles. He’s going to treat the team as a business and do the bare minimum, he doesn’t actually care, it’s obvious.”

For another statistic that shows the struggles Baltimore is facing at the right side of the plate, look no further — the Orioles 13 home runs from right-handed batters this year are tied for 24th in MLB. They are also 13-21 with a rotation that ranks last in the AL in with a 5.75 ERA, ahead of only the Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins overall.

Baltimore’s offense is also tied for 21st in the majors in OPS and ranks 23rd in runs per game. Though there is still time for them to pull away in the American League East.

Thanks to the these struggles, fans are getting to the point where they expecting disappointment. While they shouldn’t be counted out because the season is so young, changes need to be made across the board in Baltimore. There is still time for improvement, but the issues run much deeper than the players who have been assembled on the field, especially on the right side.

“I feel for my friends that are O’s fans,” another fan said . “Y’all are the kindred spirits of us Pirates fans. Suffering through a failed rebuild with no one getting fired. It’s straight bull crap.”
