A Texas man planned to take his mother out for Mother’s Day, but was fatally shot by his stepbrother at her home, according to officials.
Deputies arrived at the home in far north Houston at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, and discovered 32-year-old Eduardo Alfaro Jr. with gunshot wounds, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a May 11 news release. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to investigators, Alfaro visited his mother’s home to take her out to celebrate Mother’s Day. However, those plans were thwarted when he got into a fight with his stepbrother, 50-year-old Charles Storey, Gonzalez said.
Storey could have been on a “drinking binge,” according to Gonzalez.
The men’s fight escalated, and Storey fatally shot Alfaro, according to Gonzalez.
According to KRPC, deputies found Alfaro in an upstairs bedroom before hearing someone move and discovering Storey hiding in the room.
According to Gonzalez, Storey was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of murder.
