One of baseball’s legends is almost back.
Clayton Kershaw is officially MLB ready after months of rehabilitation, and the southpaw will make his 2025 debut in the coming days.
In his final tuneup before returning to Dodger Stadium, Kershaw struck out two and gave up two runs in four innings.
Aaron Schunk, the Isotopes’ second baseman, hit a two-run home run to score the runs.
“I hope this is my last time in rehab. “I’m kind of done with that,” Kershaw stated during Spring Training. “However, I don’t want that to be the reason I stop playing. … I hope I can leave on my own terms, whenever that is, but it just didn’t feel like the right time.”
Kershaw is returning just when the Dodgers need him the most, as the team is dealing with a slew of injuries that not even their expensive offseason has been able to address.
The team certainly hopes that Kershaw’s consistent presence in the locker room will help them defend their title.

Kershaw is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list as early as Saturday, when the Dodgers host their interstate rival Angels.
It’s unclear how long Kershaw will be able to go in his first few appearances with the team, and given his injury history, some patience and caution will be required. Still, it’ll be great to see Kershaw back in the major leagues.
The 37-year-old is in the middle of his 18th season in Los Angeles.
