Trent Grisham is having the most unexpected power hitting season in baseball.

On Monday night, the Yankees’ outfielder received some help.

In Seattle, Grisham drove a ball deep into centerfield. However, it lacked sufficient distance.

But when Mariners centerfielder Julio Rodriguez raced back, his catch was not clean. The ball bounced around, and when Rodriguez hit the wall, it squirted list.

It went right up and over the wall.

Because it had never touched the ground or the wall, it was a home run from the moment it landed on the other side.

Grisham had already homered 11 times this season.

He probably won’t hit another one like this in his MLB career. Perhaps he should give Rodriguez something nice as a thank you.

Or maybe he’ll see this same action again. Stay tuned.
