One year later: Grandmother awaiting additional arrests in Windsor Hollow attack that killed 4-year-old

SAN ANTONIO — A four-year-old girl died as a result of a violent attack one year ago this month. MaryAnn Marble, her parents, and two siblings were shot on May 8, 2024, in their home off Windsor Hollow.

Six months ago, investigators charged one of the accused shooters with capital murder, but they promised additional arrests.

“It feels like it was yesterday but at the same time it feels like I haven’t seen her in forever,” Luna told me.

April Luna is MaryAnn’s grandmother. She was inside the house that day when the two gunmen opened fire.

“I just don’t want anybody to forget her,” she said.

Luna claimed MaryAnn had just gone downstairs when the attack occurred.

“I really thought it was firecrackers at first,” Luna told me. “But after those first few, it was just like, it sounded like a hundred of them.”

Luna managed to avoid the gunfire, but she had to witness a horrific scene afterward.

“They shot her right in the face,” Luna said. “She was laying on the floor and bleeding out.”

According to Bexar County investigators, the attack was targeted and appeared to stem from an ongoing feud between MaryAnn’s father and the suspects. However, Luna stated that once the father was released from the hospital, he left the state and refused to cooperate with investigators.

Despite his lack of cooperation, BCSO made a breakthrough in the case in October when they discovered the gun used in the shooting at the bottom of Calaveras Lake.

Using digital evidence, investigators linked Isaiah Perales to the weapon. His arrest was also the result of numerous interviews, social media analysis, jail inmate phone calls, and phone location information.

Perales is still in the Bexar County jail, awaiting trial.

Bryan Salazar is a person of interest. Perales’ affidavit indicates that he is suspected of being the second shooter. But he hasn’t been charged with murder.

“So many people are just walking around free like they did nothing wrong,” Lune told the audience.

While it is frustrating to wait for more arrests, Luna expressed confidence in the detective handling the case. She claimed he even paid them a visit last week, on the one-year anniversary of MaryAnn’s death.

“I always say, my granddaughter is my angle in heaven and he’s my angel on earth,” Luna told me.

If you have any information about Bryan Salazar or the incident, please contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at (210) 335-6000.
