To qualify, applicants must have an annual income below $46,520. Importantly, Social Security income is not counted when determining eligibility, and only half of Social Security income is included in income calculations.

The refund amount depends on your yearly income:
- Up to $1,000 for incomes between $0 and $8,270
- Up to $770 for incomes between $8,271 and $15,510
- Up to $460 for incomes between $15,511 and $18,610
- Up to $380 for incomes between $18,611 and $46,520
Residents of Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Scranton may qualify for an additional refund ranging from $190 to $500.
