If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, your June 2025 payment will come a little early this year. This is due to how the calendar dates fall, but don’t worry—you will still get your full benefits, just on a different day.
Who Gets SSI Benefits?
About 7.4 million Americans receive SSI payments every month. SSI helps people who are disabled, have limited income or resources, or are aged 65 and older. Some children with disabilities also qualify. Around one-third of SSI recipients also receive Social Security benefits.
When Are Social Security Payments Made in June 2025?
Social Security payments are usually made on Wednesdays, and the payment date depends on your birthday:
- Born between the 1st and 10th: Payment on June 11
- Born between the 11th and 20th: Payment on June 18
- Born after the 20th: Payment on June 25
People who started receiving Social Security before May 1997 get their payment earlier, on June 3.
When Are SSI Payments Issued?
SSI payments are normally sent on the 1st of every month. But if the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, payments are issued early.
Since June 1, 2025, falls on a Sunday, the June payment will be sent on Friday, May 30, 2025. This means SSI recipients will receive two payments in May (for May and June), but none in the calendar month of June.
Similar early payments happen in September and November:
- September payment is sent on Friday, August 29 because September 1 is Labor Day (a holiday). So, two payments come in August, but none in September.
- November payment is sent on Friday, October 31 since November 1 falls on a Saturday. So, two payments come in October, none in November.
