New York State is helping many residents with monthly SNAP benefits and an upcoming stimulus check. But the payment dates and amounts vary depending on where you live in New York. Let’s look at how the SNAP payments are scheduled and the details of the stimulus checks for 2025.
SNAP Benefit Payment Dates in New York
The timing of SNAP payments in New York depends on whether you live in New York City (NYC) or outside the city (often called Upstate New York). This difference is because the state uses two different schedules for payments.
The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) manages SNAP. Benefits are loaded onto Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. The exact payment date depends on the last digit of your case number.
SNAP Payment Dates Outside NYC for June 2025
For people living outside NYC, SNAP payments are made during the first nine days of June. The last digit of your case number decides the date:
If your case ends in 0 or 1, payment is June 1
Case ending in 2 gets payment June 2
3 → June 3
4 → June 4
5 → June 5
6 → June 6
7 → June 7
8 → June 8
9 → June 9
If these dates fall on a weekend or holiday, payments come early, on the last business day before.
SNAP Payment Dates in New York City
In NYC, SNAP payments are spread over thirteen days in the first two weeks of the month, skipping Sundays and holidays. The exact dates change each month. For June 2025, for example, case numbers ending in 0 get payments on June 2 and 16, and case numbers ending in 1 get payments on June 3 and 17.
The rest of the numbers have assigned dates too, which vary by month. The OTDA publishes a monthly calendar to help beneficiaries know their exact payment days.

Maximum SNAP Benefit Amounts for 2025
The federal government sets the maximum SNAP benefits each year. For 2025, the monthly maximums for households in New York and most states are:
1 person: $292
2 people: $536
3 people: $768
4 people: $975
5 people: $1,158
6 people: $1,390
7 people: $1,536
8 people: $1,756
For each additional person: add $220
Stimulus Checks Coming to 8 Million New Yorkers
This fall, New York State will send inflation relief stimulus checks to over 8.2 million eligible residents. The payments will be automatic, up to $400, with no extra forms needed. The money will be sent starting October 2025 and may continue through December.
Eligibility depends on your 2023 tax return. You must not be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return. The amounts vary by income and filing status:
Single or head of household: $200 if income is $75,000 or less, or $150 if income is between $75,001 and $150,000.
Married couples filing jointly: $400 if income is $150,000 or less, or $300 if income is between $150,001 and $300,000.
Widowers qualify with the married scale.
The state will send the checks to the address on your tax return. These payments won’t affect your future state or federal tax refunds.
Governor Kathy Hochul says this payment is part of a plan to reduce the impact of inflation and help middle-class families through tax cuts and credits.
The SNAP payment schedule and stimulus checks show New York’s effort to support residents facing financial challenges. Knowing your SNAP payment date and the stimulus check rules can help you manage your budget better in 2025.
