An Oklahoma man called 911 while allegedly stabbing his father, asking the dispatcher which body part of his father to attack next.
Erick Nimsey, 41, did not resist officers when they took him into custody on Monday after responding to his own 911 call from an apartment complex in Del City, just outside of Oklahoma City.
Nimsey faces charges of domestic assault and battery with a deadly weapon, as well as domestic assault and battery resulting in great bodily harm. The alleged victim was his own father, Eddie Davis, 63, according to KWTV, a local CBS affiliate.
According to KWTV, Nimsey placed a 911 call and asked the audibly shocked dispatcher, “You want the left or right foot? What one do you want, dispatcher? “Whoever are you?” He was allegedly asking which part of Davis to stab next.
Nimsey allegedly continued to press the perplexed dispatcher, saying, “Say left or right, and this will be on you.” Davis could be heard speaking in the background and reportedly screaming as his son allegedly continued to assault him.
“If you don’t answer in three seconds,” Nimsey commanded, “then I’m going to assume you said ‘left,’ OK?”
“What is happening?” the dispatcher asked frantically.
According to KWTV, the dispatcher attempted to keep Nimsey talking for six minutes before officers arrived on scene.
When they arrived, Nimsey allegedly told the dispatcher that he refused to open the door, saying, “If you want it open, you can kick it in.”
The officers apparently followed Nimsey’s advice and kicked down the door to the apartment. Inside, body camera footage showed a bloody scene in the kitchen where Davis lay.
Officers found Nimsey in a nearby room, already kneeling with his hands behind his back.
Davis was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.
After being arrested, Nimsey allegedly made several delusional statements, including claiming to be 120 years old and that officers were plotting to kill his mother.
He allegedly threatened to stab the officers while also claiming that he could get “lions and tigers” to commit the crime for him. KWTV reported that Nimsey repeatedly asked the police, “Do you believe in mercy?”
Nimsey was booked at the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
