The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced recalls from Supreme Service Solutions, The Coastal Companies, and Isabelle’s Kitchen Inc. The affected items include cucumbers, salads, salsas, and vegetable trays sold at supermarkets and food distributors.
Products Recalled by The Coastal Companies
The Coastal Companies recalled cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers, Inc. and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales, Inc. These were sold in Maryland and shipped to several states, including Ohio, Virginia, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Vermont, and North Carolina.
No illnesses have been linked to The Coastal Companies’ products so far, but the FDA says the Bedner’s Farm cucumber recall is tied to 26 salmonella cases in 15 states.
Affected products include various brands and sizes of salsa and salads such as East Coast Fresh Fresh Mild Salsa, Wellsley Farms Mild Salsa, and Created Fresh Mini Garden Salad.
Products Recalled by Isabelle’s Kitchen Inc.
Isabelle’s Kitchen is recalling 946 cases of refrigerated deli salads containing fresh cucumbers from Bedner Growers. These salads were sold in states like New Hampshire, Florida, Maryland, South Carolina, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
No illnesses have been reported from these products. Only specific salads under the brands “Isabelle’s Kitchen,” “Maple Avenue Foods,” and “Kings” are affected, including Greek Pasta Salad, Mediterranean Pasta Salad, and Quinoa Tabouli with use-by dates mainly in late May and early June.
Products Recalled by Supreme Service Solutions LLC
Supreme Service Solutions recalled products sold mainly through Kroger and affiliates in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Michigan. The recalled items include cucumber bowls, vegetable trays, salads, and snack cups with ranch dip.
No illnesses or complaints have been reported for these products so far.
What Should Consumers Do?
If you have any of these products, do not eat, sell, or serve them. Instead, throw them away safely. The CDC advises washing all surfaces and utensils that may have come into contact with these cucumbers using hot, soapy water.
When eating out, ask if cucumbers come from Bedner Growers or Fresh Start Produce Sales to avoid contaminated food.
