A 34-year-old woman, dubbed a “enforcer” by local prosecutors, is accused of chasing, beating, and shooting a man during a robbery in Pasco.
Guadalupe A. Sanchez and two nieces were charged Tuesday with first-degree assault on a 46-year-old man. He had a broken nose, welts on his head, and a bullet graze wound on his elbow.
Sanchez, along with Evenie M. Landa-Riojas, 22, and Elisett Landa-Riojas, 21, are being held at the Franklin County Jail on assault charges. Sanchez has also been charged with first-degree robbery with a deadly weapon.
Sanchez has a criminal history, including assisting two men in concealing the body of a West Richland mother in 2018. Other felony convictions over the last six years include assault, harassment, and bail jumping.
Most recently, she was found guilty of fourth-degree assault after holding a woman at gunpoint for eight hours in Kennewick.
New Pasco charges
Sanchez and her nieces are accused of attacking a man inside a Marie Street home last week.
Officers discovered the injured man around 11:45 p.m. on May 15 near the intersection of 18th Avenue and West Henry Street, according to court documents.
Sanchez allegedly pointed a small white pistol at his chest and told him “she could kill him,” according to court documents.
The nieces claimed they were gang members and that “he didn’t know who he was messing with.” They allegedly began hitting him, and Sanchez joined in, police said. It’s not clear how they knew him.
The man and another person fled the house, but the women pursued them and continued to attack, according to investigators.
Sanchez allegedly took the man’s phone and continued to hit him. Her nieces and another man were also involved, according to court documents.
When the victim fell to the ground, Sanchez allegedly pointed the gun at him and fired, grazing his elbow, according to prosecutors.
Evenie and Elisett Landa-Riojas have been ordered to post $50,000 bail.
Sanchez is being held in exchange for $200,000.
2018 Murder
Sanchez was sentenced in 2019 for helping dispose of Michelle Hudnall’s body in the Columbia River in 2018.
The body was discovered in a river near Carbody Beach about two months after she went missing.
Sanchez and her boyfriend, Benny Rodriguez Lozano Jr., eventually pleaded guilty to their roles in Hudnall’s death.
Sanchez was sentenced to one year and three months in prison. Lozano pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and received a 12-year sentence.
Florentino Jai Castillo, the third defendant, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree manslaughter. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
Kennewick Assault
Sanchez pleaded guilty in December to assaulting a woman in a Kennewick trailer and was sentenced to 70 days in jail, according to court documents.
The victim told investigators she discovered Sanchez with a gun inside her trailer on September 29 and was led to a detached garage about a half-mile away. Sanchez stole her phone and purse, as well as a necklace she was wearing, she told police.
Sanchez held her for eight hours, pointing the gun at her multiple times and hitting her before she was able to flee and call police, according to court documents.
Witness tampering
Sanchez also received a witness tampering conviction after threatening a domestic violence victim to change her story.
In July 2022, Ramon Jaimes-Galvez kidnapped the woman at gunpoint and beat her before branding her with a hot clothes hanger.
He called Sanchez from jail and asked her to threaten the victim. Sanchez forced the woman to undress and hit and threatened her while holding a gun.
According to court documents, Sanchez finally released the woman after she gave a taped statement recanting her allegations against Jaimes-Galvez.
Sanchez eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year and eight months.
Jaimes-Galvez pleaded guilty to assault and received a sentence of just under five years in prison.
