After a fight between two drivers turns violent on the West Side, a man is killed

CHICAGO — A fatal shooting on the city’s West Side early Saturday morning has left police searching for answers.

Officers said the shooting occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Spaulding Avenue in Humboldt Park.

Officers said the victim, a 35-year-old man, was in his car in the area when he got into a fight with another driver, an unknown male.

According to police, during the argument, the victim exited his vehicle, but when he did, the other person opened fire on him from inside the other car.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

After the shooting, the gunman fled the scene.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed, and it is unclear what sparked the argument.

An investigation into the shooting is currently underway.
