Hopkinsville Defeated by Kentucky’s Top-Ranked Team

In their Tuesday night game against the Hopkinsville Tigers, the Warren Central Dragons proved why they are considered the top team in Kentucky by securing a commanding 92-65 victory. From the opening whistle, it was evident that both teams were evenly matched, with the first quarter ending in a 23-23 tie. However, Warren Central took control of the game during the second quarter, limiting the Tigers to just four field goals and building a 49-33 lead by halftime. The Dragons continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring Hopkinsville 24-16 and increasing their lead to 73-49. The Tigers tried to mount a comeback, but Warren Central’s defense was too strong, and they were able to sustain their lead for the remainder of the game, ultimately winning by a 27-point margin. Kade Unseld led the Dragons with 29 points, and Omari Glover added 16 points. Kemarion Smith was Hopkinsville’s leading scorer with 18 points, followed by Bubba Leavell and Antonio Williams with 17 points each. The loss brings the Tigers’ record to 5-10 for the season, and they will now focus on their next challenge, the Warrior Showcase in Evansville this weekend.
