The Hopkinsville High School archery team put in a strong performance at the tournament held at Russellville High on Saturday. The team had been working hard in preparation for the tournament and were eager to test their abilities against some of the best archers in the state.
Sophomore Allison Delahunt was a standout performer for the Hopkinsville team, with a total score of 273 points, earning her 13th place in the female division. Her fellow team members, Gracie Stroh and Lexi Ebbinger also put in strong performances, finishing in 35th and 39th place respectively.
On the men’s side, Ty Richards had the top score for the Hopkinsville team, with a total of 268 points, earning him 24th place. Thomas Grice and John Moore also had notable performances, finishing in 34th and 46th place respectively. These strong individual performances contributed to the Hopkinsville team’s overall score of 2,785 points, which earned them a seventh-place finish in the tournament. They were 93 points behind sixth-place Russellville High.
The tournament was won by Logan County’s Isaac Stanley, who had the highest score of the day with a 290. Gabby Howard of Muhlenberg County had the top female score with 284. These two archers were undoubtedly the standouts of the tournament, but the Hopkinsville High School archery team should be proud of their efforts and the progress they’ve made. The team will now take the lessons learned from this tournament and use them to improve and strive for even better results in future competitions. The team is determined to continue to represent Hopkinsville High School with distinction on the archery field.
