    Tigers Torch Bosse with 99-Point Blowout: Williams and Leavell Lead the Charge

    The Hopkinsville Tigers had a memorable weekend at the Banterra Bank Warrior Showcase, clinching a resounding 99-59 victory over Evansville Bosse on Saturday. Senior players Bubba Leavell and KeiMarion Smith particularly shone, hitting a combined total of 12 three-pointers in the win, which was part of 22 Tiger 3s in two games.

    The first quarter of Saturday’s matchup saw 57 combined points, including three-pointers by Smith and 9 points from Hopkinsville’s Antonio Williams. Taray Howell put in a valiant effort for Bosse, scoring 12 points in the first quarter, but the Tigers still led by nine after 8 minutes. Williams scored 12 points in the second quarter, and Leavell hit a pair of threes to go with six more for Smith.

    The Tigers took a comfortable 57-37 lead into the locker room despite eight more points from Powell, who reached 20 at the half for Bosse. Smith finished the game with 27 points and eight rebounds, Williams scored 11 after the break for a team-high 32, and also led the Tigers with 17 boards. Leavell finished with 19 points, and Isaiah Manning scored 10 with eight rebounds. The win helped Hopkinsville snap a 4-game losing streak and improved their record to 6-10, and they will be playing against Madisonville-North Hopkins on Monday.
