Christian County Public Schools to Reopen Thursday with One-Hour Delay

Updated On:

Christian County Public Schools (CCPS) has announced that all campuses will reopen Thursday following recent weather-related disruptions — but with a one-hour delay to ensure safe travel and improved visibility for students and staff.

While all schools will be open, AM and PM preschool sessions have been canceled for the day. Breakfast will still be served as usual.

Limited Bus Service in Some Areas

Due to significant flooding in areas such as South Christian and Oak Grove, a number of bus routes will not operate on Thursday. The impacted routes primarily serve South Christian Elementary, Hopkinsville Middle, and Hopkinsville High. Parents in these areas are encouraged to use their best judgment when deciding whether to transport their children to school.

Families with unique circumstances or concerns are urged to contact their school principal for guidance.

Bus Routes That Will Not Operate:

  • #142 – Rachel McDaniels
  • #182 – Roberta Grimes
  • #183 – Jill Dihl
  • #181 – Ollie Hancock
  • #201 – Tammy Brumley
  • #211 – Tim Beal
  • #212 – Amber Belinger
  • #216 – Toni Majors
  • #196 – Tracie Salters
  • #135 (sub bus #551) – Ronnie Rougemont

Additionally, route changes in the Pembroke area are expected, and families in that region will be contacted directly by transportation officials.

All other bus routes will operate on a one-hour delay in line with the adjusted school schedule. However, families should be prepared for possible additional delays as drivers adjust to the temporary changes.
