HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Hopkinsville man faces theft charges after stealing a trailer.

On April 10, Christian County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a theft report in the 1000 block of Lovers Lane, where a trailer had been reported stolen from a residential driveway.

According to the sheriff’s office, surveillance footage from the residence showed a black Ford pickup removing the trailer. Deputies found a vehicle that matched the description and obtained its license plate number.

Kenneth Morris, 64, of Hopkinsville, was identified as the driver following an investigation.

On April 11, deputies found him and the vehicle at a home in the 700 block of Riverview Drive. After being read his Miranda rights, Morris agreed to speak with deputies and admitted to removing the trailer.

He claimed he bought it from a third party, who was later found to have no legal claim to the property.

Morris was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking – All Others ($1,000 < $10,000).
