It wasn’t exactly a romantic novel moment, but on her 55th birthday, Melania Trump appeared to take matters (and her husband) into her own hands as they arrived from the Vatican.
After attending Pope Francis’ funeral in Vatican City, the Trumps returned to the US. According to a body language expert, Melania appeared to take the initiative as they returned home.
The FLOTUS and the President had traveled to the Vatican for the funeral, where Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the first time since their heated encounter in February.
After paying their respects, Trump, 78, and Melania, who celebrated her birthday on Saturday, immediately left for the airport to return home.
The Trumps arrived on Air Force One at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport, where the President boarded Marine One and Melania boarded a car. Before the couple parted ways, they shared a hug and a kiss “in the air” in front of the camera, which appeared to be an intentional gesture, according to Judi James.
Judi James added that Donald Trump may have intentionally created “a contrast” with his “public display of fondness.” The last time he spent his wife’s birthday was in court.
According to the expert, the President of the United States appeared to be “instigated and performed” by Melania Trump, who attempted to distance herself from her husband while exiting the plane.
Judi stated, “Trump spent his wife’s final birthday in a courtroom, so he may have been determined to use this public display of affection to create something of a contrast this year. However, Melania appears to have initiated and performed the farewell kiss.
She continued, “Trump places a hand on her back once they hit the tarmac to gently steer her away while he performs his power and victory ritual for the cameras alone, first raising one hand in a ‘hail’ gesture, then curling it into a ball to show a raised fist, and finally pointing at the cameras in a dominant gesture.”
He also goes to wave goodbye to his wife from afar as he walks to his helicopter, but he finds her standing in the wind for him like the French Lieutenant’s Woman.”
Judi primarily discussed the fact that during their moment of affection, Melania Trump placed her hand on her husband’s arm and appeared to be in control. The expert added that the President was caught “off-guard” but felt “very happy” as Melania tilted her head “to instigate the kiss” that was “in the air.”
The expert went on to say, “The sight appears to trigger some birthday affection, and he walks over to her, talking and holding out his left hand in an intentional gesture.” Melania appears to take control as his hand touches her waist, leaning forward and placing one hand on his arm, which then moves around to his back to pull him in for the air kiss.
“Her head tilts to initiate the kiss, and both of their lips pucker to simulate a lip kiss, but in the air. It’s a rather sweet ritual that appears to catch Trump off guard, despite the fact that he appears very pleased with his wife’s offered kiss.”
