Police say an Amish man killed an Ohio neighbor and left her body with a goat for weeks

Police in Ohio have arrested an Amish man in connection with his neighbor’s murder, months after her body was discovered.

Samuel Hochstetler, 18, was charged this week with the March death of Rosanna Kinsinger, 28. Mose Troyer, who also lives in the Amish community, found Kinsinger’s body. He told WSAZ that Hochstetler was originally from Kentucky and had been living with him for several months.

Troyer told the station that on March 13, people in the community noticed they hadn’t seen Kinsinger in a while, so he went to check on her at the end of the day and found her body, along with a goat, inside the home. Troyer called 911.

Police said they arrived on the scene and determined the death was suspicious, prompting an investigation. Over the next few weeks, police carried out search warrants, conducted interviews, and processed evidence gathered at the scene.

Hochstetler was eventually identified as a person of interest in the case, and on May 5, police arrested and questioned him. After the interview, Hochstetler was arrested and charged with Kinsinger’s murder.

“This case was a tragedy for everyone who knew Rosanna. She was a well-known figure in her community. Scott Fitch, Meigs County Sheriff, stated. “Detectives worked tirelessly to find answers, and they succeeded.

Hopefully, this investigation will bring some closure to the victim’s family, and on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, we offer our heartfelt condolences.”
