A crucial clue in the case of the missing autistic teen from Tennessee has emerged. Sebastian Rogers, 15 years old, has been missing since February 25, 2024. A private investigator has now received video footage that could be useful in the case.
Video Footage May Be Major Clue In Missing Autistic Boy Case
According to the Daily Mail, the PI, Steve Fischer, shared surveillance footage from the night of his disappearance. It captured footage of a street just a block away from the teen’s Sumner County home at 12:17 a.m. The video captures an unidentified figure walking by, which could be Sebastian.
“It’s definitely a person,” Fischer confirmed. He also mentioned a dog walker who passed by shortly before the unknown person arrived. “It appears that a thin person dressed in dark clothing walks south on Kellyn Lane behind a vehicle. And it appears that he or she is attempting to remain out of sight of the person walking their dog.”
Fischer noticed that the figure walked behind a car for a while. They then turned around and walked back the way they had come. It’s the most direct clue they have, as search dogs had previously pointed investigators in this direction. The dogs discovered a possible lead at a construction site near the block.
The private investigator has now handed over the video footage to the authorities. Despite the significance of this clue in this year-long investigation, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to identify the figure. “It took three times watching the entire video before we discovered that,” Fischer added.
Aside from this video footage, law enforcement has found no leads on where Sebation could be. According to NewsNation, Katie Proudfoot, the boy’s mother, reported her autistic child missing.
She’d last seen her son the night before February 26. Around 10 p.m., the mother heard a strange thud coming from his room. Police searched far and wide around the family’s Hendersonville home, but found nothing.
Sebastion’s biological father, Seth Rogers, was the one to hire the PI. He, too, was worried sick for his autistic son. “I don’t want my son to become a cold case,” he said. “The way I’m seeing things now, it’ll be a cold case.”
Family Of Missing Autistic Teen Battling Crime YouTubers
Aside from the latest video clue, the boy’s family is also fighting a legal battle with crime influencers on social media. Not only were the police looking for him, but so were internet users who had heard about the case.
Katie, Sebastian’s stepfather, Chris Proudfoot, and Seth sued three YouTubers as a result of their invasive interest in his disappearance. These YouTubers shared their own theories about the teen’s disappearance.
Katie claimed that YouTuber Andra Griffin, aka ‘Bullhorn Betty,’ helped her social media followers stalk Sebastian’s family. “She is dangerous,” Katie told WKRN. “And [she] is threatening my and my family’s safety and telling her followers to help and do the same.”
Griffin, on the other hand, pushed back against these allegations. “If it is from her, then it is completely false,” said the YouTuber. They can look at all of my ‘lives.’ My ‘lives’ never disappear from my channel. Driving on public property, on public roads, with a camera out is not illegal.”
