CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has announced the death of a school resource officer.

The MCSO reported that SRO John Eddlemon died at the age of 46.

“SRO Eddlemon began his career with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in March of 2023 and was actively serving as a School Resource Officer,” according to the MCSO. “Our condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Eddlemon reportedly died on Thursday surrounded by love and support, according to his obituary in the Clarksville Now.

“He was a dedicated public servant, devoted family man, and faithful follower of Christ whose life was marked by perseverance, integrity, and service to others,” according to Eddlemon’s funeral notice. “Throughout his life, Paul was known for his steadfast faith, commitment to public service, and unwavering love for his family.”
