A kitten was rescued from a car engine after a driver pulled over at a Kentucky fire station on Wednesday.

According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, a driver from Nashville stopped at Station 1 and informed firefighters that there may be an animal in the vehicle’s engine compartment.

HFD personnel, along with Hopkinsville Police, conducted a further investigation and discovered a kitten hiding under the engine.

The kitten traveled from Nashville to Hopkinsville under the vehicle’s engine.

Animal control responded to the station and examined the kitten, which was found to be unharmed.

The kitten belonged to the driver and was returned to them after being checked out, according to HFD.

“When we say we’re a ‘all-hazards’ department, we mean it,” the HFD spokesperson said. “All-hazards. “Large or small.”
