Police arrested a Hopkinsville man for strangulation and assault

Hopkinsville Police arrested 47-year-old Charles Adkins on Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted a woman.

Officers responded to a residence on Dell Drive and spoke with the victim of the reported assault.

She allegedly told officers that Adkins was working outside and entered her home.

During an argument, Adkins allegedly grabbed the victim’s hair and began strangling her.

Adkins claimed that no physical altercation occurred, but officers discovered a large red hand print around the victim’s throat.

Adkins faced charges of fourth-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.
