Pedestrian struck in Princeton collision and flown to Evansville hospital

A Princeton woman was flown to an Evansville hospital for treatment after being injured in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in Princeton on Friday.

The Princeton Police Department said officers responded to Walmart after receiving reports of a pedestrian collision in the parking lot.

A preliminary investigation has determined that a vehicle driven by 67-year-old Carol Hampton of Eddyville was navigating between rows five and six when she attempted to turn left in front of the store and collided with a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart.

The pedestrian, 78-year-old Julia Thomas of Princeton, was knocked to the ground; no details were provided about her injuries.

She was taken to the helicopter pad at the Caldwell County ER and then flown to Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
