HOPKINSVILLE, KY — A drunk man on a beer run nearly collided with a police cruiser early Saturday morning.
According to a Hopkinsville Police Department citation report, a 22-year-old man driving a Honda Civic went through a stop sign at East Parkview and East Ninth Street around 4:30 a.m.
He’d been “recklessly traveling into opposing traffic lanes, almost striking another police cruiser.”
The driver told police he had just returned from his house, where he had been drinking. He had run out of beer and was on his way to buy some more, he explained.
He was arrested for DUI and multiple traffic offenses.
