CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A 69-year-old man died and two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in Clarksville on Wednesday morning.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the accident occurred at 11:21 a.m. on Purple Heart Parkway near Jordan Road.

The entire roadway was closed for several hours Wednesday to allow medical helicopters to land and evacuate those involved in the crash.

According to the preliminary investigation, the collision involved a Nissan Altima and another vehicle.

Three people inside the Nissan were reportedly transported to hospitals in Nashville by helicopter for treatment.

However, the front-seat passenger in the Nissan, 69-year-old David Frazier, died from his injuries.

According to officials, the Nissan driver is still in critical condition, while the third passenger is in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the two occupants of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries, police said.
