Hopkinsville and Clarksville police collaborate to apprehend burglary suspect

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — A suspect wanted in connection with burglaries in Clarksville and Hopkinsville was arrested Friday, according to police.

The Hopkinsville Police Department reported that officers responded to a burglary just before 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 24. Surveillance footage revealed that the suspect used a rock to gain entry into the business and stole several hemp-based products.

The surveillance footage also captured his face and the vehicle he was driving.

The Clarksville Police Department had been looking into similar burglaries, and the agencies collaborated to identify the suspect as 26-year-old Nicholas McNeal.

On Friday, police executed a search warrant at McNeal’s Oak Grove residence. Detectives discovered products stolen from stores in Hopkinsville and Clarksville, as well as the clothing that McNeal was wearing in surveillance footage.

McNeal faces third-degree burglary charges in connection with the Hopkinsville burglary on May 24. McNeal is also wanted by Clarksville police on three active warrants.
