The mayor joins Hope's Healthcare personnel to raise mental health awareness

On Thursday, Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight joined the staff of Hope’s Healthcare to read a proclamation recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month.

Hope’s Healthcare is a local behavioral health organization that offers testing and treatment for psychiatric illnesses.

While reading the proclamation, Knight emphasized the importance of open discussions about mental health and thanked the Hope’s Healthcare staff for their contributions to the community.

Katelyn Hodge, Practice Manager at Hope’s Healthcare, said it was an honor to have Knight read the proclamation and thank them for their efforts.

Hope’s Healthcare has been in the community for nearly four years, and Hodge claims they have served over 1,000 patients.

According to Hodge, they work to help people with a variety of mental disorders, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, and others.

Hope’s Healthcare also offers a program called Hopeful Horizons, in which staff work with children aged four to ten who have ADHD, autism, or other conditions to help them interact and play appropriately with other children.
