CLARKSVILLE, TN — One person was shot at the Montgomery County Fair on Saturday night, and the suspects fled the scene.
According to Clarksville Police spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien, officers working off-duty at the Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds in support of the ongoing fair heard gunshots from the parking lot near the entrance around 9:10 p.m.
Additional officers from the Clarksville Police Department responded quickly and discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim, whose age has not been disclosed, has been transported to Tennova Healthcare; his current condition is unknown.
Following the incident, witnesses at the scene reported seeing five to six males running away toward Hazelwood Road. Beaubien stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
The Clarksville Police Department is requesting that anyone in the immediate area with video surveillance cameras review their footage. If you see anything suspicious, call 911 right away.
