Three males detained after officers discovered various substances during a traffic stop

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – A routine traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of three Kentucky men on various drug charges.

Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Greenville Road and the Bypass, north of Hopkinsville. Deputies approached the vehicle and made contact with its three male occupants.

One of the passengers, 42-year-old Brandon Marvin of Livermore, was found to have an active Contempt of Court warrant from McLean County. Deputies asked all three men to exit the vehicle while they continued their investigation.

A K9 unit was dispatched to the scene and alerted to the vehicle’s rear passenger side. Deputies searched the vehicle with the consent of the occupants. Deputies found methamphetamine, marijuana, a white powdery substance, and various pieces of drug paraphernalia.

During individual interviews, none of the occupants claimed ownership of the illegal drugs. As a result, all three men—52-year-old driver Jeffrey Tucker of Utica, 44-year-old passenger Jay Riley of Calhoun, and Brandon Marvin—were detained.

Each person was charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Tucker also faces multiple traffic charges. All three suspects were taken to the Christian County Jail.
