A Hopkinsville Man Was Arrested for Several Shoplifting Incidents in Princeton

A Hopkinsville man was arrested after a series of shoplifting incidents at two Princeton businesses.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison reported that officers received a call from Walmart’s loss prevention team on Tuesday morning about a man who shoplifted a Hart tool set.

Officers reported finding the suspect at the Circle K on South Jefferson Street after receiving a description of him and his vehicle.

Officers made contact with the suspect, 35-year-old Tailer Smith, and discovered a Hart tool set box in the back seat of his vehicle, as well as a pawn receipt from Princeton Pawn Shop.

Police later confirmed that the tool set was discovered and retrieved from the pawn shop.

According to police, Smith shoplifted from Walmart twice before, on March 7 and April 28, and was also a suspect in a shoplifting incident at Falders on April 11.

Smith was arrested and charged with four counts of shoplifting. He was held in the Caldwell County Jail.
