CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Update: Rescue teams have called off their search for a 12-year-old boy who was last seen in the Red River on Sunday.

The Clarksville Police Department stated that the dive teams have suspended operations for the night and will resume at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Clarksville Fire Rescue crews will continue their search Sunday night.

The 12-year-old boy’s father reported him missing on Sunday, saying he was last seen in the river.

“At this time, unless there are any significant changes in the situation, Billy Dunlop Park, Robert Clark Park, and the Blueway will remain closed to the public until further notice,” the police department announced.

Earlier: Two parks have been closed until further notice due to a search for a missing child who was reportedly last seen in the river.

Just after 1:45 p.m. Sunday, the Clarksville Police Department said they responded to Billy Dunlop Park to assist the Clarksville Fire Rescue and the Montgomery County EMS in a water rescue.

According to CPD, a father reported his 12-year-old child missing. The child had last been spotted in the Red River.

As a precaution, CPD has closed Billy Dunlop Park, Robert Clark Park, and the Blueway while police search for the boy.

CPD stated that details are limited at this time.
