Hopkinsville Tigers Put Up a Fight but Fall Short Against Marshall County

Despite a tough loss to Marshall County on Thursday, the Hopkinsville Tigers put in an impressive effort and fought hard until the final inning. While Marshall County was able to take an early lead, the Tigers never gave up and continued to battle throughout the game.

On the pitching side, Thomas Hallmark started the game for the Tigers and put in a solid performance, striking out five batters over four innings. Although he gave up three runs and five hits, he kept the Tigers within striking distance.

Gavin Mitchell came in as a reliever and put in a strong performance, holding Marshall County scoreless over two innings. While the Tigers’ pitching couldn’t quite match that of their opponents, they still put in a commendable effort.

Offensively, JJ Thompson led the way for the Tigers with two hits in four at-bats. His performance was indicative of the team’s fighting spirit, as they continued to battle every pitch and put pressure on Marshall County until the very end of the game.

While the loss was undoubtedly disappointing, the Tigers can take pride in their effort and determination. They’ll take on their crosstown rivals Friday night at Tiger Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
