A teenager was flown to a Nashville hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Lafayette Road in Hopkinsville on Thursday afternoon.
According to Hopkinsville police, the 16-year-old was crossing Lafayette Road near the intersection of Koffman Drive when he was hit by a car.
According to Hopkinsville Fire Department spokesman Captain Payton Rogers, the teenager was taken to meet a helicopter at Hopkinsville Fire Station Number Four.
The teenager was flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment of serious lower leg injuries.
Meanwhile, an SUV was damaged in an unrelated accident near the scene of the first crash when the driver attempted to turn into a parking lot and ended up in a ditch.
