HOPKINSVILLE, KY – A long-running Internet Crimes Against Children investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a Powell Road residence on April 16.
In January 2025, the Hopkinsville Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations launched an investigation into peer-to-peer file sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) over the BitTorrent network.
It was discovered that 46-year-old Christopher Knight used BitTorrent/FrostWire to upload and download approximately 5,316 files containing CSAM.
During a search of Knight’s home on Wednesday, law enforcement discovered FrostWire actively downloaded on his mobile device. Knight denied using it to download CSAM, according to an HPD arrest report.
He was arrested and charged with seven counts of distributing matter depicting a sexual performance by a minor under the age of twelve. Additional criminal charges are pending.
This arrest was made possible by a collaboration between Hopkinsville Police Department Electronic Crimes Unit Detectives, KSP Electronic Crimes Branch Detectives, Homeland Security Investigations Special Agents, and Christian County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
