One individual was detained after a drug bust in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — On Tuesday evening, Christian County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a routine patrol and arrested a Hopkinsville woman on multiple drug and forgery charges.

Around 8:30 p.m. on April 23, deputies approached 44-year-old Shauna Haas in the 100 block of Carter Road after noticing a parked vehicle.

During the interaction, deputies said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that Haas was wanted in Iowa on a non-extraditable warrant.

A search of her vehicle revealed suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a checkbook containing several altered checks made payable to Haas.

Gabapentin, clonidine hydrochloride, marijuana, and suspected methamphetamine residue were among the recovered items.

Haas was arrested and faces a number of charges, including:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree
  • Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Forgery, 1st Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 2nd Degree
  • Unlawful Access to a Computer, 4th Degree

She was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
