Funeral services for Thomas “Tommy” E. Gamble, 85, of Hopkinsville, will be held at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Burial will take place in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour.

Survivors include:

  • His wife of 61 years, Dorothy Saltsman Gamble, of Hopkinsville;
  • His son, Randall Thomas Gamble (Traci), of Hopkinsville;
  • His daughter, Julie Lynn Gilkey (Brent), of Hopkinsville;
  • His sister, Mary Ella Williamson (Jerry), of Hopkinsville;
  • His two grandchildren, Katie Beth Yeomans (Cory), Lane Thomas Gamble;
  • His great granddaughter, Callie Beth Yeomans,
  • And one more great grandson on the way; along with several nieces and nephews.

Pastor Rick Stevens is officiating.

He died from natural causes on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

He was born on March 18, 1940, in Christian County, the son of the late Elmer Earl and Virginia Bond Gamble.

He began his career at Thomas Industries before moving on to several coal-related companies.

In recent years, he owned and operated Tom Gamble Enterprises while working as a contractor for Fort Campbell.

He proudly served in the National Guard for over 17 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.

He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Joseph E. Gamble and David E. Gamble.
