CLARKSVILLE, TN – A woman is accused of killing a man with his own gun and then stealing the gun and several of his belongings.
Portia Renee White, 19, is charged with first-degree murder and theft in the August 8, 2024, death of 18-year-old Keon Marquis Alford Jr.
According to the arrest warrant, at 9:51 p.m. that night, Clarksville Police responded to an ambulance call at 1843 Memorial Drive and discovered Alford unresponsive. He was declared dead from a gunshot wound.
CPD detectives discovered several items missing from Alford’s bedroom, including a “Space Jam” backpack, a black studded belt, a replica Louis Vuitton sling bag, and a pair of blue and white Nike shoes, the warrant stated.
Detectives then discovered that on August 7, White posted photos of herself on Instagram in Alford’s bedroom holding his “Glock 44” handgun. The gunshot wounds corresponded to the caliber of the handgun.
Detectives discovered the missing backpack, belt, and sling bag during subsequent searches of two White-associated residences. The warrant stated that White was wearing the missing Nikes.
During an Aug. 21 interview, White told detectives she planned to travel to Florida the following day.
In March, the Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted White on first-degree murder and theft. They claimed that between August 6 and August 9, she killed Alford and stole his handgun.
She has a settlement hearing scheduled for June 18.
