He died from natural causes on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born in Seaside, California, on April 1, 1960, as the son of the late David Kenneth McGregor and Martha Wayne Simmons.

He was a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and papaw. His outgoing personality and compassionate heart left an indelible impression on everyone he met.

He enjoyed playing baseball, tennis, and golf. He spent countless weekends hunting, boating, and camping with family and friends.

His love for others was as strong as his work ethic. He started his career as a groundskeeper at Skyline Golf Course before becoming a delivery driver and then a manager at Model Milk in the late 1990s.

He went on to work as a route driver and account manager at Key Oil Company before joining Seay Oil Company as an account manager and bulk warehouse manager. David eventually finished his career at Christian County Alternative Services, where he enjoyed working with his beloved brother and son.

David was the type of man who never encountered a stranger. His generosity, quick wit, and warm smile would brighten any room. He was a storyteller, a jokester, and a source of happiness for those who knew him.

David was also a man of deep faith, sharing his beliefs in quiet but powerful ways and demonstrating his values with compassion and humility.

David’s legacy will live on through the laughter he brought, the love he shared, and the countless lives he impacted.
