A body was discovered late Sunday morning in a wooded area off Daniel Street near Laurent Lane, prompting an investigation by Clarksville police.
Officers responded around 11:13 a.m. to a 911 call for a welfare check. When police and emergency medical personnel arrived, they discovered an individual who had been pronounced dead on the scene.
The Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Homicide Unit is currently leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. No information about the victim or the cause of death has been released at this time.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and they want anyone with information or video footage from the area to come forward.
