After a Trigg County pursuit, a teenager was charged

A pursuit that began near the FiveStar gas station in Trigg County resulted in a crash Sunday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop a truck shortly before 3 a.m., but the driver fled at high speed before colliding with a tree on Cool Spring Cave Road.

Following the crash, the driver and two passengers were arrested, and the truck caught fire. The Montgomery Fire Department was called to extinguish the fire.

According to deputies, all three people in the vehicle are being taken to the hospital for medical attention.

The driver, a juvenile, is charged with first and second-degree fleeing or evading police, DUI under 21, open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and three counts of failure to wear a seat belt.
