Hopkinsville Police arrested 21-year-old Carrie Johnson after she allegedly attempted to break into a home, resulting in a physical altercation on Sunday.

Officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at a residence on South Henderson Drive. Johnson was reportedly under the influence of alcohol when he arrived at the scene and began fighting with the homeowner.

Johnson allegedly broke a window pane on a side door, alerting the homeowner to the attempted break-in, and they discovered her in their car in the carport. She then attacked the homeowner with pepper spray, injuring his finger.

Johnson faces charges of second-degree assault, criminal mischief, and public intoxication.
