HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Radcliff man is facing several charges after colliding with bicyclists.
On Monday evening, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and the Hopkinsville Police Department responded to a report of a serious vehicle collision on the 1000 block of Pembroke Road.
The collision involved a single vehicle and four bicyclists.
According to the CCSO, first responders discovered two cyclists who were unresponsive and had sustained serious injuries.
The driver, Isaiah Edwards, 30, of Radcliff, allegedly told deputies that he was distracted while driving.
Edwards was given a roadside sobriety test, which allegedly revealed signs of impairment.
Deputies say Edwards later told them he had smoked marijuana on Monday morning.
Edwards was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance – third offense (aggravating circumstance).
Edwards is housed at the Christian County Detention Center.
The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating the collision.
