A wreck on South Fowler Avenue sent a woman to the hospital and knocked out power in the neighborhood Tuesday morning.

According to Hopkinsville Police, a southbound SUV struck a utility pole, severing it, before colliding with a fence and a house.

One person sleeping in the house was reportedly struck but not injured.

Police say the power will be out for a while while the pole is replaced, and the road will be closed as well.

Hopkinsville EMS treated the SUV driver and transported him to Jennie Stuart Health for further treatment.
