The Christian County Grand Jury returned several indictments on Friday, including charges of fleeing police and wanton endangerment.
William Waters of Hopkinsville received a true bill for violating a foreign emergency protection/domestic violence order and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
According to Hopkinsville Police, Waters and his two daughters poured lighter fluid all over the living room of a North O’Neal home on March 4, then bent down to the ground with a lighter and attempted to set the room on fire.
He was arrested and booked into the Christian County Jail.
Tyler Kozlowski of Pulaski, Wisconsin, was charged with multiple counts, including first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property worth more than $1,000, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense with an aggravating factor.
The charges stem from a pursuit on March 5 by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police of an SUV driven by Kozlowski around the US 68 exit.
According to law enforcement, the pursuit reached speeds of 130 mph before coming to an end at the 76-mile marker when a deputy used a precision immobilization technique to stop the vehicle. Police say Kozlowski fought with officers before being arrested and taken to the Christian County Jail.
The grand jury also indicted a man from Evansville, Indiana, following a pursuit on I-169 in February 2023.
Lamont Barnes received a true bill on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree attempted assault on a police officer, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
Barnes is accused of fleeing Kentucky State Police after they attempted to stop a vehicle near the I-169 and I-24 interchange.
According to police, the pursuit reached speeds of 120 mph and ended near the 32-mile marker on I-169 when Barnes’ car ran off the road and collided with another vehicle. Barnes was arrested and booked into Christian County Jail.
